Plug-ins are handy little applications you add to your Yahoo! Messenger. Each plug-in gives you the freedom to do cool stuff right in Yahoo Messenger (check local traffic, see a friend's blog, checkout a friend's Amazon wish list). Use plug-ins on your own or load a plug-in during an IM conversation to do fun things with your friends in real-time.
To get you started, we put a few plug-ins in your Messenger window. To add others, just click the Plug-in button. Try plug-ins for other Yahoo! services or ones from Amazon.com, eBay, and other favorite websites. Check out the ever-growing gallery of Plug-ins.
Tab plug-ins appear at the bottom of the Yahoo! Messenger main window and are for your personal use. Look up your local weather, listen to your favorite LAUNCHcast radio station, check stock quotes and more. When you want to add more plug-ins, just click the Plug-ins button.
Managing plug-ins is easy too. Just drag and drop the title bar of a plug-in to change its order in the list. Double-clicking a title bar will also expand or collapse the plug-in. Found a plug-in you think is really cool? Click the arrow in the title bar, then choose "Send plug-in to a contact" to share it with a friend.
When you're IM'ing with a friend, click the Plug-in button to load a conversation plug-in. Conversation plug-ins let you and a friend share a game, service or other activity in real-time in your IM window. Use the Yahoo! Scribbler plug-in to draw out what you're trying to say, or import a Flickr photo and start having fun. Or use the Yahoo! Event Finder to jointly look up local events — a great way to make plans together.
Plug-ins for Yahoo! Messenger can be created by anyone — even you! We welcome individuals, companies and partners to submit their own plug-ins to share with the Yahoo! Messenger community. Find out how.
